Dear friends of peace,
Ulrike Guérot and Isabelle Casel kicked off “civic diplomacy” with a trip to Moscow, where they took part in a discussion on “Germany, quo vadis” together with Patrik Baab at the Europa-Institut on June 16. The following day, Ulrike then presented her new book “Zeitenwenden” at the Gallery Thélème and the discussion was recorded. She also gave an interview to the German newspaper and Isvestia. The conversations were all very fruitful!
Last weekend there were large demonstrations with hundreds of thousands of participants against the Israeli government’s genocide against the Palestinians in The Hague, Brussels and Berlin, which we as the European Peace Project helped to call for. The protests were also directed against the policy of the EU and its member states, many of which unilaterally support Israel, such as Germany in particular, which continues to supply large quantities of weapons to Israel despite an ongoing trial for supporting genocide before the International Court of Justice
The demonstrators demanded an immediate and permanent ceasefire from Israel, an end to the genocide and an end to the closure and occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, southern Lebanon and parts of Syria, which violates international law. They demanded that the EU impose sanctions against Israel and stop all arms deliveries and other support. Many participants were dressed in red.
Despite their size, all these demonstrations were hushed up by the mainstream media. In Germany, the major media as well as established German politics are firmly on the side of Israel, so that criticism of Israel is condemned across the board as right-wing and anti-Semitic and critics of Israeli policy are publicly defamed. https://lostineu.eu/den-haag-und-bruessel-mobilisieren-gegen-den-genozid-in-gaza/?fbclid=

Merz buries international law with his subterranean statement “Israel is doing our dirty work for us”, which can lead to the collapse of any legal system.
