Your participation and creativity on 9 May has exceeded all expectations. There is still a flood of interest, approval and suggestions for further activities.  <br\/><br\/>We are gradually posting all the videos sent to us by participants from all over Europe (and beyond, such as Australia \ud83d\ude0a) here on our YouTube channel: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@EuropeanPeaceProject\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@EuropeanPeaceProject<\/a><br\/>Take a look and share the channel or your \u2018best of videos\u2019 on your networks or social media channels.<br\/><br\/>We hope to have a gallery and the documentary film ready by 15 July. Please send us not only videos, but above all photos of your actions, as we are planning an online gallery as well as a printed catalogue to accompany the documentation. <br\/><br\/>The auction of the original works created for the European Peace Project by artist Regina Bender has started on our website &#8211; so be sure to take a look and secure a unique and one-of-a-kind testimony to our historic action on 9 May 2025. <a href=\"https:\/\/europeanpeaceproject.eu\/en\/auction\/\">https:\/\/europeanpeaceproject.eu\/auktion\/<\/a><br\/><br\/>We have made our title banner and especially the flag template on our \u2018Artwork\u2019 subpage more timeless, so that you can continue to use them for actions or to hang them on your window or balcony. We would like to keep 9 May each year as \u2018our day\u2019, the <strong>Citizen European Day (CED)<\/strong> for peace through international understanding.   <br\/><br\/>We encourage all existing participants in the European Peace Project to remain active on the ground, be it with renewed manifesto readings, peace walks, involvement in city or other partnership formats with Russia, etc. These activities should be supported by individuals or groups on the ground, who are of course welcome to continue to use and expand\/adapt the artwork and manifesto text in all languages on the website &#8211; with their own VisdP and responsibility, of course. Be inspired by the latest protests in London or The Hague with 500,000+ demonstrators in favour of an immediate stop to Israel&#8217;s war of extermination against the Palestinians. <br\/><br\/>We will\/must take up this issue next, because it is our obligation and promise, especially as Germans, to NEVER AGAIN stand idly by while genocide takes place! Therefore, we are planning a next big action\/exclamation\/creative speech act with new text and artwork on 7 October. We will keep you up to date. However, after the completion of the film and gallery on 15 July, we will take a summer break until September, during which we will not be idle, but will pursue our other projects, engage in people&#8217;s diplomacy ourselves, help prepare a big peace concert that will take place in Munich on October 3rd.   <br\/><br\/>We also have the idea of initiating a pan-European \u2018Hertenstein 2:0\u2019 conference in September 2026 as the nucleus of a new start for European integration that is committed to the values of peaceful coexistence, non-aligned and civilian in character.<br\/><br\/>At the same time, we will follow developments in Europe and the world closely, using our social media channels and possibly the mailing list for objective information. Should there be an escalation of war preparations or events that require an immediate massive protest by civil society, we will spontaneously mobilise for a broad action.  <br\/><br\/>Here is the press release by MEP Michael von der Schulenburg on the trip to Moscow on 9 and 10 May 2025, also in connection with the European Peace Project:  <br\/><strong>For an end to the war in Ukraine and a new beginning of European-Russian relations<\/strong><br\/><br\/>&#8220;On 9 and 10 May 2025, we travelled to Moscow together with three other Members of the European Parliament, Ondrej Dostal from the Czech Republic, Lubos Blaha from Slovakia and Fidias Panayiotou from Cyprus, to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory over German fascism. The aim of our trip was to commemorate the victims of the world war unleashed by Nazi Germany and to hold talks with representatives from politics and society. With our trip, we wanted to oppose the prescribed break in communication and emphasise how important it is to have an exchange, especially in times of crisis.    <br\/><br\/>On 9 May, we did not visit the military parade, but laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to commemorate the 27 million victims of Nazi Germany&#8217;s barbaric campaign against the Soviet Union and the decisive role played by the Red Army in the victory over National Socialism. We were touched by the fact that even the many visitors who honoured their relatives murdered by the Germans at the memorial on this day did not reject us in any way, even though we spoke German. <br\/><br\/>During our discussions with high-ranking Russian representatives (see appendix), we experienced a great willingness to engage in open dialogue, even on difficult topics, and there were no restrictions on the topics of conversation. During the talks, we naturally expressed our concern about the catastrophic humanitarian and political consequences of the war in Ukraine and our hope that a peaceful settlement of the conflict could be reached as quickly as possible. We emphatically emphasised that the weapons must finally be permanently silenced and negotiations must be held to facilitate the search for a peace settlement that takes into account the interests of all parties to the conflict, including of course Ukraine, as this is the only way to secure lasting peace in Europe.  <br\/><br\/>At no meeting did we encounter the kind of resentment and statements that are unfortunately now being spread in Germany, right up to the Foreign Minister (\u2018Russia will always be an enemy to us\u2019). Our interlocutors in Russia repeatedly referred to the good relations with Germany in the past and emphasised how important it was in both sides&#8217; interests to start talking to each other again. At the end of our trip, we attended a performance at the Bolshoi Theatre to emphasise the fact that it is also culture that unites us.  <br\/><br\/>We returned from our trip with the conviction that the primary and urgent task should be to find a peaceful, stable and future-oriented post-war solution for Ukraine and Europe and that this can only be achieved through negotiations with Russia. A strict refusal to engage in talks on the part of EU member states while at the same time issuing ultimatums is a completely wrong policy. It is in Europe&#8217;s interest to support and promote efforts to settle the war in Ukraine and to rebuild relations with Russia step by step instead of continuing with gigantic armament and the self-destructive sanctions policy.  <br\/><br\/>We would like to emphasise that we did not represent the European Parliament in Moscow, nor were we official guests of the Russian government. We undertook this trip out of<br\/>personal responsibility as European parliamentarians and also covered all travel expenses from private funds.
